    Protection

    Medicare made simple.

Turning 65 shouldn't feel like a pop quiz. We walk you through your Medicare choices in plain English, find a plan that fits your doctors and your budget, and make sure you never miss an enrollment deadline.

    What is Medicare?

Medicare is the federal health insurance program for Americans 65 and older, and for younger people with certain disabilities. It has four parts that work together to cover hospital, medical, and prescription drug costs.

    What each part actually does

    Part A — Hospital

Inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing care, hospice, and some home health care. Most people pay no premium.

    Part B — Medical

Doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and durable medical equipment. Comes with a monthly premium.

    Part C — Medicare Advantage

An all-in-one plan from a private insurer that bundles A, B, and usually D — often with dental, vision, and hearing extras.

    Part D — Prescription Drugs

Helps pay for prescriptions. Stand-alone plan added to Original Medicare, or built into a Medicare Advantage plan.

Supplement vs. Advantage — which is right for you?

This is the biggest decision most people face. Both options have real strengths. The right one depends on how you use healthcare today and what you expect five and ten years from now.

    Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

    • • See any doctor in the country who takes Medicare
    • • Predictable out-of-pocket costs
    • • Great for frequent travelers and snowbirds
    • • Higher monthly premium, smaller surprises

    Medicare Advantage (Part C)

    • • Often $0 premium beyond Part B
    • • Bundles dental, vision, hearing, sometimes gym memberships
    • • Uses a network of doctors — referrals may be required
    • • Copays as you use it

Enrollment windows you need to know

    Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)

A 7-month window around your 65th birthday. Miss it and you may pay penalties for life.

    Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)

October 15 — December 7. Change plans, switch from Advantage back to Original, or add Part D.

    Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment

January 1 — March 31. One chance each year to switch Advantage plans or go back to Original Medicare.

Confused by all the Medicare letters?

A 10-minute call sorts it out. We'll walk you through what you qualify for, what it costs, and what to do next — in plain English.

    Available Mon–Fri, 9am–6pm ET.

    Common questions, answered straight

When do I sign up for Medicare?

Your Initial Enrollment Period starts three months before the month you turn 65 and ends three months after. Missing it can mean lifelong late penalties on Part B and Part D.

What's the difference between a Supplement (Medigap) and a Medicare Advantage plan?

A Supplement pays the gaps Original Medicare leaves behind — you keep your doctors and rarely owe much. An Advantage plan replaces Original Medicare with a private network, often with a $0 premium but more rules about which doctors you can see.

Do you charge for help choosing a plan?

No. Our help is free to you. Insurance companies pay us a fixed commission whether you work with us or sign up on your own — so there's no reason not to get a second opinion.

    Can I switch plans later?

Yes. The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7 each year. There are also Special Enrollment Periods if you move, lose coverage, or qualify for Extra Help.

Ready for a real, human conversation?

No pressure, no jargon. Just a friendly walk-through of your options.
